Bring a reference
A saved photo is the single most useful thing you can bring. Not to be copied line for line, but because it shows what you actually like — length, shape, how busy, how much colour.
From there the design gets adapted to your nail beds and finger length, which is why a set that looks incredible on someone else sometimes needs adjusting to look right on you.
No reference? That is fine too. Bring a colour, an outfit or an occasion and it gets built from there.
How long it takes
Genuinely varies. A simple accent nail adds a few minutes. A full hand-painted set with 3D elements and embellishment is a long appointment.
Describe the design when you book, so the right amount of time is set aside. Showing up with an elaborate idea in a short slot is the one thing that leads to a rushed result.
What changes the price
$60 is where it starts. It moves most with:
- How many nails carry the design, rather than one or two accents
- Hand-painted detail versus a single-colour finish
- Crystals, pearls, charms and 3D elements
- Length and shape
Send your reference photo when you book and you will get a price before you commit.
Making embellishment last
- Crystals and charms sit proud of the nail, so they catch on things — pockets, hair, car doors
- Cuticle oil daily, as with any set
- If a crystal comes off, keep it and come in rather than gluing it yourself
- Consider accent nails rather than a full set if you work with your hands
Questions about this service
Can you recreate a design from a photo?
Bring the photo. Most designs can be adapted — the word is adapted rather than copied, because the proportions usually need adjusting to your nail shape and length to look right on your hands.
How far in advance should I book for an occasion?
As early as you can, especially for a wedding, a holiday or an event. Detailed sets need a longer appointment, and those slots fill first.
Do crystals and 3D elements fall off?
They can, because they sit above the nail surface and catch on things. Applied and sealed properly they hold for the life of the set. If one does come off, keep it and come in rather than gluing it at home.
Can I get art without extensions?
Yes. Nail art works on your natural nails over a gel manicure. See gel polish and dry manicure for that, and mention the design when you book.
